LINEUP ANNOUNCED FOR CRS 2015 “TEAM UMG AT THE RYMAN” LUNCHEON

Show is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 4, 2015) – The lineup for “Team UMG At The Ryman” luncheon, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 during CRS 2015 has been announced. This year’s performers include Billy Currington, Brothers Osborne, Canaan Smith, Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker, David Nail, Dierks Bentley, Easton Corbin, Eric Church, Josh Turner, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kip Moore, Little Big Town, Mickey Guytonand Vince Gill.Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Nashville, Mike Dungan comments about the show, “Now in its sixth year, the UMG Ryman show has become The CRS Event.  It’s an intimate musical experience, from our family of artists and staff, with the family of friends at radio.  You just gotta be there”

The event is scheduled to start at Noon on Feb. 26 at the Ryman Auditorium.  As in previous years, seminar registrants will receive lunch prior to the event.

GRAND OLE OPRY SET TO RETURN TO CRS 2015

Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Mickey Guyton, Oak Ridge Boys, Eli Young Band, Chase Bryant, RaeLynn and Mo Pitney among list of performers

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 3, 2015) – The Grand Ole Opry is to return to Country Radio Seminar for the kick-off night of CRS 2015 on Feb. 25, 2015 at the Nashville Convention Center. 

The star-studded lineup includes Chase Bryant, Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Mickey Guyton, Mo Pitney, Oak Ridge Boys and RaeLynn.  The event will begin at 7 p.m., immediately following the annual CRS Opening Night Welcome Reception. All CRS registrants can attend, with both seating and standing room available. The Grand Ole Opry at CRS is sponsored by My Well-Being Powered by Humana.

Since 2012, Country music’s most famous show has made its mark on CRS and brought star-studded shows to standing room only crowds. With the Opry’s signature barn backdrop and famous microphone stands on stage, the Nashville Convention Center is transformed to give audience members a real taste of the Opry and the Grand Ole Opry House in the middle of CRS.

“The Opry at CRS has become one of our favorite shows of the year,” said Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher. “We look forward each year to showcasing for our country radio friends from across the country the Opry’s unique brand of entertainment, which features superstars topping the charts, legends of the genre who have paved the way for those superstars, and new artists who have caught our attention and excited Opry audiences since the previous year’s CRS Opry.”

The Opry, radio’s longest-running program, has rarely staged shows outside its regular program schedule and its permanent home (the Grand Ole Opry House) or its winter residence (Ryman Auditorium). Past Opry performances played outside the show’s home venues include performances staged at prestigious theaters such as New York City’s Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

The single recently hit Country radio and is an up-beat tune that features Wolfe’s familiar traditional sound, while showcasing a new modern flair. With its catchy hook and foot-tapping melody, “Smile On Mine” tells the story of budding romance on a first date.

Of the new single, Wolfe comments, “My new single “Smile On Mine” really clicked with me the first time I heard it. It represents this important bridge between traditional country and the more edgy, modern melodies we’re hearing on the radio these days. That’s what I feel like my whole new album is doing – I’m staying true to my roots and my traditional voice, but also growing and adapting with the times. I think my fans are going to love it!”

CRS SPOTLIGHTS TECH AND SOCIAL MEDIA PANELS SCHEDULED FOR CRS 2015

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 2, 2015) – Country Radio Seminar has revealed details surrounding four tech and social media panels scheduled for Country Radio Seminar 2015. “The Power of the Connected Car,” “Direct From The Consumer Electronics Show: Coolest Gadgets & Gizmos for 2015,”“Social Media Bootcamp, Track 1: How To Speak In Your Brand’s Voice and Get Content Shared” and “Social Media Bootcamp, Track 2: Finding & Engaging Your Consumers In Real-Time” are the four newly released panels that have been added to the three-day agenda.

“The Power of the Connected Car,” scheduled for Thurs., Feb. 26 at 4:00 p.m.-4:50 p.m., will highlight examples of the latest technology in cars and discuss how radio stations are competing for other options in radio equipment.  Confirmed participants for the session are Paul Brenner (SVP/CTO, Emmis/NextRadio), John Ellis (Sr. Technologist/Ford), Joel Hoffman (Chief Automotive Strategist/Intel in Tempe, AZ), and another panelist to be confirmed.  Chris Barker (Parter, C3 in Scottsdale, AZ) is the panel’s moderator.

“Direct From The Consumer Electronics Show: Coolest Gadgets & Gizmos for 2015,” scheduled for Thurs, Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m.-2:50 p.m., is a recap of the most newsworthy items from the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and will highlight entertainment options that radio competes with, as well as give an account on the future of entertainment.  Ted Cohen(CEO, TAG Strategis) andThomas Meyer (Director, Global Industry and Artist Relations/Sonos) are the session’s speakers.

“Social Media Bootcamp, Track 1: How To Speak In Your Brand’s Voice and Get Content Shared” scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 at 10:00 a.m.-10:50 a.m., will feature a diverse panel of pros, who will offer ways to craft share-worthy content that will lead to increased fan interaction and brand value.  Confirmed panelists are Jeffrey Jameson (Creative Consultant, United Stations Radio Networks), Basak Kizilisik (VP/Marketing, Morris Higham Management/Nashville), and Rita Ballou(Morning co-host, KOKE/Austin and blogger, Texas Music Scene). Country radio veteran Gregg Lindahl will moderate the session.

“Social Media Bootcamp, Track 2: Finding & Engaging Your Consumers In Real-Time,” scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 at 11:00-11:50 a.m. will follow-up on “Social Media Bootcamp, Track 1” and will focus on content creation. This roundtable workshop will give delegates the opportunity to develop skills to find their audience, connect with consumers/listeners and integrate third-party elements in non-invasive ways.  Confirmed panelists areMargaret Verghese (VP/Comedy & Prep, United Stations Radio Networks/New York), Suzanne Durham (Social Media Manager/Tour Liaison, Toby Keith Management/Nashville) and Shani Sammons (Owner, Shani Sammons Marketing Group/Atlanta).  Country radio veteran Gregg Lindahl will return as moderator for the session.

THE CAINS TRIO ADDED TO LONDON’S COUNTRY TO COUNTRY (C2C) LINEUP

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 2, 2015) – Country sibling group The Cains Trio has been added to the lineup for London’s Country to Country (C2C) music festival. C2C is scheduled for March 7-8, 2015 at London’s The O2, and marks the trio’s debut international performance. 

The Cains Trio released their debut album, Stay On Board, in late 2014 through DayStreet Records/GMV Nashville. The trio also released their debut single, “Be Yourself With Me,” in 2014, which garnered the group MusicRow Magazine’s prestigious DisCovery Award.

“We have a gut feeling that performing in London will be a turning point in our career. We’re gaining fans from the UK daily since C2C announced our name on their website, and we are counting down the days until C2C,”commented the group’s Madison Cain.

The emerging group has already achieved success in their home state of Alabama and has garnered a solid fan base by performing shows at music venues across the state. While all three were students at Troy University, the trio entered into a video contest, eventually winning the opportunity to open for Dave Barnes in Birmingham, Ala. They have also opened for Andrew Ripp and share co-writes with Ed Hill, Billy Lawson and Roger Murrah.

The group’s current single, “Be Yourself With Me,” a mid-tempo, tenderhearted tune about allowing loved ones to take their guard down and be open and honest with one another, is currently No. 55 on the MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart. With is first show scheduled in Houston at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Natural Man Album Release Tour kicks off on March 20 and is scheduled to make 22 stops across Texas and into Oklahoma, with notable pit stops in Austin, Helotes and Fort Worth, TX.

Special Announcements To Be Made During CRS 2015 Opening Ceremonies

Scheduled for Wed., Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. CT

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan. 26, 2015) – On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Country Radio Seminar will kick off its annual event with the Opening Ceremonies at 3 p.m. CT at the Nashville Convention Center in downtown Nashville.  A host of announcements are scheduled, making this year’s opening ceremony a must-attend event.

Some of the highlights include the reveal of the Country Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2015, a presentation recognizing Lady Antebellum for being the recipient of the CRS 2015 Artist Humanitarian Award, an appearance by Mayor Karl Dean, presentation of the 2015 Tom Rivers Award to Jeff Smulyan and awarding the Rusty Walker scholarship winners, the endowment presentation to the University of North Texas, and a special announcement that attendees will not want to miss.

In addition, the Opening Ceremonies will kick off with the U.S. Marine color guard making an appearance and Capitol recording artist Mickey Guyton performing the national anthem.

CRS President Charlie Morgan comments, “What better way to kick off CRS 2015 than showing our pride in the US Marine Corps, spotlighting a great new talent, giving scholarships, an endowment, and paying tribute to two of our formats greats! Stephanie, a native of Greenville, S.C., is a graduate of the University of Georgia, double-majoring in vocal performance, and risk management and insurance, and she was in the inaugural Music Business class. She is currently the Treasurer of the Nashville Film Festival, and is a member of CMA and ACM. Stephanie was also a 2012 honoree of Nashville’s Top 30 under 30 and a member of Nashville Emerging Leaders (Class of 2013).

Catherine Stein, whose forthcoming nuptials will make her Catherine Moore, began her career in the music industry as an account executive with Flood, Bumstead, McCready and McCarthy, Inc.  At the company, she worked with an array of clients, including marquee recording artists and actors, international touring corporations as well as emerging talent. She is a native of Chattanooga, TN and graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

CRS OFFERS DAY PASSES AND PANEL PASSES AT CRS 2015

$99 Unemployment Rate Returns 

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan. 23, 2014) – Once again, single-day passes and panel passes for Country Radio Seminar 2015 will be made available on-site throughout the three-day event, set for Feb. 2527, 2015 at the Nashville Convention Center in downtown Nashville, Tenn.  Single-day passes are $200 and panel passes will be $40 per panel.

Day passes include access to panels, speakers, luncheons and networking destinations on day of pass purchase, with the exception of Friday’s New Faces of Country Music show.  The panel pass affords attendees the opportunity to select any panel or presentation for only $40.

In addition, a $99 Unemployment Rate is also now available.  Proof of unemployment will be subject to verification by Country Radio Seminar. This is the fifth consecutive year in which CRS has offered the unemployment rate, providing industry colleagues a chance to network and connect with others at CRS. DIGITAL RODEO HELD FIRST SHOWCASE OF 2015

Due to Rising Streaming and Attendance Numbers, DRX is Now Seeking Showcase Sponsorships for 2015

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan. 22, 2015) – Online social network and country lifestyle portal Digital Rodeo held their first DRX Monthly Showcase of 2015 on Tues., Jan. 20 at 3rd and Lindsley.

The January DRX Showcase featured up-and-coming artists Amanda WinterJames CarothersNate GreenBrandon Alan and Ty Bates, and was hosted by Deborah Allen. To learn more about these artists, please visit their artist profiles on www.DigitalRodeo.com.

Each act performed two songs compacted into a one-hour show, which was backed by the 3rd and Lindsley house band, consisting of members Tim Horsley (drums), Robbie Emerson (bass, vocals), Erik Halbig (guitar), Mike Webb (keys) and Scotty Huff (guitar, vocals, music director). Previous showcases have featured hosts Linda Davis, Andy Griggs and Bryan White.

The next DRX Showcase is set for Feb. 24 at 3rd and Lindsley.
