During that time, Bowen was a member of the board’s Executive Committee, holding an Officer position as longtime secretary for the organization. Bowen’s more than 30 years of successful radio and sales experience at WKIS in Miami played a key role in shaping the success of CRS.

Bowen commented about the honor, saying “I am deeply honored and humbled to be this year’s recipient of the CRB President’s Award.  This organization has had a tremendous impact on me both professionally and personally.  Serving within this organization has enabled me to learn from the brightest minds in Country Radio and Country Music.  It has always been a labor of love and I am very proud to have contributed to the success of Country Radio Seminars and CRB.”

NEW COUNTRY TRIO POST MONROE ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF DEBUT EP: AVAILABLE NOW

PostMonroe_EP Cover

Sony ATV singer-songwriters Ashlee Hewitt and Shelby McLeod have joined forces with Given Entertainment’s Whitney Duncan to emerge as the latest country trio, Post Monroe with a self-titled debut EP to be released for digital here.

“We are so excited to get the first taste of our music out and available for everyone to hear,” said Duncan. “We have really been looking forward to this day for quite a while.”

Hewitt added, “We truly feel like the chemistry we have found together in the writing room and in the studio is something very special; we feel so blessed.”

The five-track EP produced by Chuck Ainlay and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum (with Aaron Chmielewski producing on “Lucky One”) was born out of the writing room and combines Post Monroe’s distinct harmonies and sweet mandolin melodies with southern attitude.

“I have had such an amazing time being on the production side of the music-making process with Post Monroe,” said Haywood. “I truly believe that these girls are the real deal – from the writing room to the studio – they have a unique perspective and fresh sound that I can’t wait for people to hear.”

The trio came to fruition as Hewitt and Duncan discovered McLeod’s voice after a co-writing session and decided she was the woman to complete the package. Individually, the ladies approach their craft from different perspectives that support the creative flare of their work.

“We are strong women and we’re vulnerable,” said McLeod. “There are many sides to every woman and we like writing songs that speak from all those sides.”

While drawing from unique backgrounds, Post Monroe blossomed from each member’s early passion for music. Hewitt, who came of age on a farm in Lancaster, Minn., has extensive experience in live performance playing 150 shows annually throughout her teenage years and was a former contestant on the sixth season of Nashville Star before relocating to Music City.

A native Tennessean, Duncan, has been amongst Nashville’s elite songwriters since the age of 15. She was recognized on the Warner Music Nashville roster in 2008 with the release of her album Right Road Now featuring the popular “When I Said I Would” and “Skinny Dippin”.

With a more traditional path, McLeod spent her childhood singing locally and participating in musical theater in her hometown of Madison, Ga.. She earned a degree in communications from the University of Georgia before acquiring a position in the music industry where she initially got to know her bandmates.

The first single from the project will be “Red Hot American Summer” and the video will soon follow the debut release. For more information, visit PostMonroe.com.

Keb’ Mo’ LIVE – That Hot Pink Blues Album Available NOW
New Live Release Receives Rave Reviews

(Nashville, Tenn. – April 15, 2016) – The latest project, Keb’ Mo’ LIVE – That Hot Pink Blues Album, from Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist and contemporary blues artist Keb’ Mo’ is now available for download via Kind of Blue Music/RED Distribution on iTunes, Amazon and KebMo.com. Officially released today, April 15, the album has already made it into the hands of music critics and is already receiving rave reviews.

PopMatters music editor describes, “That Hot Pink Blues Album‘s biggest accomplishment is the mere reality that it plays like more of a victory lap than it does a cash grab – Hot pink? Hot damn!”

The Daily Vault published, “Keb’ Mo’ is one of the most authentic and appealing performers of his generation, and that’s why a double-live album from him is such an unqualified joy.”

BlackGrooves wrote, That Hot Pink Blues Album shows how Keb’ Mo’s blues foundation has merged with R&B, jazz, Americana, and pop to create an accessible, polished, and perhaps even androgynous blues style.

Recorded throughout the past year while on tour, and produced by Mo’s band mate and Grammy nominated producer, Casey Wasner, the double-disc album features 16 live-recorded songs from Mo’s extensive catalog. Captured in nine different cities, Mo’ is backed by keyboardist Michael B. Hicks, bassist Stan Sargeant (Leonard Cohen, Barry Manilow, Al Jarreau) and drummer Casey Wasner.

Working closely in the studio to choose just the right tracks, Mo’, Wasner and sound engineer/mixer, Aaron Hedden, forged a very special bond. Together, they lovingly chose a collection of songs that pays homage to an illustrious 21-year career in the music business, and it gleans stellar live cuts from many albums in Mo’s catalog. Several of the tracks are off his most recent album, BLUESAmericana, which garnered Mo’ a 2015 Blues Music Award from the Blues Foundation for Best Contemporary Blues Album, three 2015 Grammy award nominations including Best Americana Album, and multiple other achievements.

A portion of the proceeds from the album will be donated to Playing For Change, an organization that seeks to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music by building music schools worldwide. Playing For Change has already supported the development of twelve schools, including in Mali, Thailand, Nepal, Brazil, South Africa and more.Mo’ has been involved with the organization since its inception. He has been featured in many related videos and events to help attend to the children’s human and artistic necessities and unite them through inspiration rather than devastation. Mo’ was featured on the Playing For Change album: Playing for Change 3: Songs Around the World, which was released in 2014 and features over 180 musicians from 31 countries, including Keith Richards, Sara Bareilles, David Hidalgo, Cesar Rosas, Taj Mahal and many others.

The show
Inspired by James Cameron’s
AVATAR, TORUK – The First Flight transports you to the world of Pandora in a visually stunning live setting. Experience a storytelling odyssey through a new world of imagination, discovery, and possibility.

Through a riveting fusion of cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft buoyed by a soaring cinematic score, Cirque du Soleil applies its unique signature style to James Cameron’s imaginary world and “makes the bond” between two kindred artistic visions that capture the imagination.

This live immersive experience also bears the distinct signature of directors and multimedia innovators Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon. It is a living ode to the Na’vi’s symbiotic coexistence with nature and their belief in the basic interconnectedness of all living things.

Narrated by a “Na’vi Storyteller” and populated by unforgettable characters, TORUK – The First Flight is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film AVATAR, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora.

When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu, two Omaticaya boys on the brink of adulthood, fearlessly decide to take matters into their own hands. Upon learning that Toruk can help them save the Tree of Souls, they set out, together with their newfound friend Tsyal, on a quest high up in the Floating Mountains to find the mighty red and orange predator that rules the Pandoran sky. Prophecy is fulfilled when a pure soul rises among the clans to ride Toruk for the first time and save the Na’vi from a terrible fate.
