Iconic Country music duo, The Bellamy Brothers, treated a packed house to a rare performance at the legendary Grand Ole Opry last week when they invited another famous pair of siblings, The Bacon Brothers, up on stage with them. The two sets of brothers recently recorded a new single together called “Guilty of the Crime,” which appears on the Bellamys’ new Anthology, Vol. 1 album, due out at the end of the month. The Bellamys kicked things off with a crowd favorite, “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” followed by the new duet, “Guilty of the Crime.” The stage full of siblings closed out their set with an up-tempo, rocking version of “Let Your Love Flow.”
The Brothers’ Grand Ole Opry performance was the final stop on their quick trip to Nashville, which included a full day of media activities and interviews with music video channels like CMT and GAC, as well as entertainment outlets Inside Music Row and various local Nashville news channels.
“We don’t get to play at the Opry as often as some artists, so each time is very meaningful and special,” noted David Bellamy during a press conference at Nashville’s ASCAP offices. “To do it with the Bacon Brothers makes it even more special to us.”
“I remember being a little boy and standing outside the Ryman, and the whole experience would blow me away because it was like nothing I had ever seen growing up,” said Golden Globe-nominated actor and co-founder of the Bacon Brothers, Kevin Bacon. “It has taken the grace of the Bellamy Brothers to get a couple boys from Philly down here to play with them. For me it is one of those things, I guess like my own Bucket List I can check off.”
Keep an eye out for the new Bellamy Brothers release, The Anthology, Vol. 1, in stores Sept. 29. The digital version is currently available on their website, www.BellamyBrothers.com.
