MARCO CLUB CONNECTION ANNOUNCES TOP TEN COUNTRY DANCE CLUB HITS OF 2016

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan. 9, 2017) Nashville-based venue marketing company, Marco Club Connection, has announced the 2016 Top Ten dance songs among Country lifestyle venues across the country. Topping the list are Jon Pardi’s “Head Over Boots,” Luke Bryan’s “Move,” and Thomas Rhett’s “T-Shirt.” Also making the list were two pop tracks, “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE and “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake.

Zac Brown To Receive CRS 2017 Artist Humanitarian Award; Peter Smyth To Receive Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award

To be presented Feb. 22 during CRS 2017

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan 5, 2016) – The Country Radio Broadcasters have announced Zac Brown as the recipient of the CRS 2017 Artist Humanitarian Award and former Chairman and CEO of Greater Media, Peter Smyth, as the recipient of the CRS 2017 Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award, to be presented during Country Radio Seminar 2017; following the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday, February 22nd, 3:30-4:00 p.m.

The CRB Artist Humanitarian Award was created in 1990 by the organization’s board to honor those Country music artists who have exhibited exceptional humanitarian efforts during their career.  Past recipients of the annual award have included Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Reba, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels, among others.

Zac Brown is a strong supporter of multiple philanthropic causes including his own Camp Southern Ground which was inspired by his experiences as a camp counselor. The program at the Georgia-based state-of-the-art facility is an inclusive camp that combines children with neuro-developmental disorders with mainstream children.  It’s mission is to provide extraordinary experiences for these children to recognize and magnify the unique gifts within themselves and others in order to profoundly impact the world.  Additional organizations that Brown is committed to include GRAMMYS on The Hill, GRAMMY U, MusiCares, Robin Hood Foundation and The USO.

Three-time GRAMMY winner and multi-platinum artist Zac Brown, of Zac Brown Band, is one of music’s most heralded acts.  The latest platinum-certified album ‘JEKYLL + HYDE’ (Southern Ground Artists/John Varvatos Records/Big Machine Label Group/Republic Records) marks the band’s fourth consecutive No.1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart. Zac Brown Band has earned a historic series of fifteen No.1 hit radio singles and is only the second band to top both the country and active rock formats.

The Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award is given at the discretion of the Country Radio Broadcasters Board of Directors to recognize an individual in the Country Radio industry who has displayed a magnanimous spirit of caring and generosity in service to their community.  This award is named in honor of CRB Board member Tom Rivers, who died in 2004 at age 38 of bronchial asthma.  Rivers, known for his work at WQYK, Tampa/St. Petersburg and WUSN, Chicago, was highly regarded for his public service.

An active philanthropist, Smyth currently serves on the Board of Directors of New England Baptist Hospital and the One Hundred Club of Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to enhancing the welfare and safety of the families of public safety officers and firefighters. Additionally, he is an Advisory Board member of the Home Base Program of Boston, which provides clinical care, education, research and support services for military veterans and their families throughout New England.

Smyth is a past member of the Board of Trustees of Emerson College and is a member of the US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management Advisory Board.

In May of 2007, Smyth received the “Humanitarian of the Year” Award from the Hundred Club of Massachusetts. He has also been recognized by Special Olympics of Massachusetts, The USS Constitution, Rogerson Communities (which provides low income housing for the elderly) and the Salvation Army of Greater Boston.

In response to the honor, Smyth commented saying, “I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this distinguished award.  I look forward to attending CRS in 2017.”

firekid joins DME Entertainment’s Larry Gordon and Aprilann for performances at 12th & Porter

(Nashville, Tenn. — December 16, 2016)firekid has joined the line-up of performing talent set to appear at 12th & Porter (114 12th Ave. North) on January 19, 2017.

The public show, which is presented by the newly announced marketing/management company, DME Entertainment Group, will open doors at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. firekid will follow performances by DME Ent. Group artists, Larry Gordon (Curb Records) and indie pop artist Aprilann.

firekid is the alter ego of virtuoso guitarist and singer-songwriter, Dillon Hodges.  A child prodigy at guitar, firekid won the National Guitar Championship at the age of 17, the second youngest contestant to win in the competition’s history. Originally from Muscle Shoals, AL, firekid’s self-titled debut album combines his bluegrass roots with a big band sound.

Larry Gordon came to the attention of Mike Curb, Chairman of Curb Records, who immediately signed him to a record and publishing deal. Gordon has commercial success as a songwriter with  “MVP” on Love & Hip Hop (LA and NY), “End of the World” from Yoga Hosers starring Johnny Depp and Hoovey (on Netflix). Additionally, he performs frequently with his father – GRAMMY-nominee Dr. Larry T-Byrd Gordon’s Orchestra/Show band where he has been featured since the age of four.

A graduate from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Aprilann is both a singer-songwriter and actress. Her independent single, “Crown and the Girls,” produced by Arty Skye from SkyeLab Music, continues to generate buzz digitally. She has a starring role in her first feature film, Johnny Gruesome, set for release in September 2017.

Scott Hamilton Announced as CRS 2017 Keynote Speaker

(Nashville, Tenn. – Dec. 12, 2016) Olympic Gold Medalist, television broadcaster, best-selling author, humanitarian, cancer survivor and eternal optimist, Scott Hamilton, will be this year’s keynote speaker at Country Radio Seminar 2017. CRS President, Charlie Morgan, will conduct the interview, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 4 – 5:00 p.m.

As a first time guest of Country Radio Seminar, Hamilton will inspire others through his motivational story and how to overcome life’s obstacles.
Hamilton captured the attention of the world in 1984 with his Olympic gold medal performances in Saravejo and has since earned the title of, “the most recognized male figure skater in the world.” He continues to share his passion for the sport as a commentator, performer, and best-selling author (Landing It, 1999; The Great Eight, 2009).

As a cancer survivor, Hamilton launched the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship). He founded several education and survivorship programs including Chemocare.com and the 4th Angel Mentoring Program. Canary Wharf London Announces Dates for the 2017 Nashville Meets London Music Festival

Scheduled for July 22-23 in Canada Square Park

“For the hall, we envisioned a large open room with natural light and quality acoustics. Steve Durr [acoustician] delivered on all fronts in his design and far exceeded our expectations,” said youngest son, Michael Jr.

The facility also houses a production room, a covered load-in area, as well as a lounge and two restrooms. The layout allows clients to use the space for multiple artistic purposes such as photography, filming and special events.

As principal members of folk-rock band The Apache Relay and now, Airpark, Ben and Michael Jr. have performed across the USA, Canada and Europe and have had their music placed in a variety of films and media programs.

“We started out with one simple goal: we wanted to create a rehearsal space with great gear, privacy, and an inspiring vibe. As artists, we’re excited to have Eugenia Hall be a part of Nashville’s music and arts scene,” said Ben.

The center is available for single-day (8 a.m. to 12 a.m.) or multi-day rentals (24-hr access), which includes sufficient parking for up to ten vehicles, one tour bus/van and trailer with the entire exterior of the property under video surveillance. A fence surrounds the property for client privacy.

Camille Rae Spreads the Christmas Spirit with “What Child Is This?”

(Nashville, Tenn. – December 2, 2016) – Country recording artist, Camille Rae, has released an original rendition of the Christmas hymn, “What Child Is This?” capturing her bright and dynamic vocals for the holiday classic.

“What Child Is This?” initially written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865, was recorded and produced by Mikei Gray and is now available through digital retailers iTunes and Apple Music.

“‘What Child Is This’ has been my favorite Christmas song since I was a little girl,” said Rae. “It is so beautiful and has always tugged at my heart strings. I’m very excited to share my take on this timeless hymn with everyone.”

Rae’s current single, “But I Want You,” co-written by Jaida Dreyer, Fred Wilhelm, and Jay Knowles, is currently climbing the Music Row chart with strong country radio airplay across the United States and Canada. “But I Want You,” is available on iTunes and Apple Music, and the official music video can be viewed here.

Originally from Mount Vernon, Ky., Rae has been sharing her talent with all whom would listen since the age of three. At 12, Rae began to craft her own songs and was a member of the Kentucky All-State Choir. She went on to complete her musical education at University of the Cumberlands and taught choir before focusing on her own artistry. Since 2012, Rae has opened for notable acts like The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, David Cook, Maddie and Tae, and more.

Rae recently completed studio work for a full-length studio album in which the street date is to be determined.
